- CRISPR/Cas9基因編輯
McLaughlin研究院於 1995 年獲得實驗動物護理評估和認證協會 (the Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care) 的全面認證,目前研究院中約有 15,000 隻實驗小鼠。
Contract Research
The McLaughlin Research Institute is widely recognized for its significant contributions in mouse genetics since 1954. A large part of the preclinical and basic research focus at the Institute is on modeling common human disease through animal models, cell-based systems and biochemistry and molecular biology.
MRI’s Animal Resource Center currently has excess capacity over current faculty needs that is now available to help meet the demand for biomedical discovery and transgenic mouse services.
Animal Resource Center
The MRI Animal Resource Center is a state-of-the-art facility, designed specifically to house mice in a safe and clean environment. The ARC facility was designed and constructed to meet exacting regulatory standards required for the operation of research animal facilities. The ARC has been fully AAALAC accredited since 1996.
Transgenic Facility
SERVICES OFFERED
- CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing
- Sperm & Embryo cryopreservation and recovery
- Pronuclear Injection
- ES Cell Injection
- In Vitro Fertilization
- Rederivation of mouse lines to specific pathogen free status

Mouse Genetics
The research programs at McLaughlin Research Institute take advantage of the Institute’s historical strength in mammalian genetics. The animal facility is designed exclusively for mice, allowing efficient animal care, fewer demands for veterinary oversight, and, consequently, per diem rates lower than most other institutions. The mouse colony is maintained as a barrier facility and is free of viral pathogens. Animal technicians are active participants in the Institute's research programs, providing services such as tissue sampling, neurological testing, surgical procedures, and record keeping. This provides relief from the tedium of cage changing for the caretakers and develops a sense of responsibility for "their" mice. Current census is approaching the capacity of approximately 15,000 mice. McLaughlin Research Institute was fully accredited by the Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care in 1995.
